Asahi Diamond Industrial Co., Ltd. (the “Company”) hereby announces that AA Diamond Technology Co., Ltd. (“AA Diamond”), a joint venture between the Company and Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. (“Tokyo Seimitsu”), has decided to establish a mass production base in Thailand for hub blades used in semiconductor manufacturing processes.
AA Diamond develops, manufactures, and sells hub blades primarily used in the dicing process to cut silicon wafers into semiconductor chips, leveraging the Company’s technology and know-how in diamond tools together with Tokyo Seimitsu’s expertise in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
To meet future demand growth and establish a stable and efficient mass production and supply system, AA Diamond has decided to establish a new mass production base for hub blades in Thailand.
In addition, the Company and Tokyo Seimitsu have each decided to make an additional investment of approximately 0.6 billion yen in AA Diamond to fund the installation of manufacturing equipment and infrastructure at the new mass production base. The new mass production base is scheduled to commence operations in fiscal 2028.
The impact of this matter on the Company’s consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 is expected to be minimal.
The Company Group will continue to capture growth opportunities in semiconductor-related markets while strengthening its product supply capabilities for customers and enhancing corporate value.
